VIOLETA DUCE SARASA
Violeta Duce Sarasa is currently working as a lecturer at Centro Universitario de la Defensa (Zaragoza, Spain) where she teaches subjects related to English language acquisition and skills and Military English. She is a member of the competitive research group “Contemporary Narrative in English” and she has participated in the group’s latest projects on Literature in the Transmodern Era and Literature Of(f) Limits. Violeta graduated in English Philology at the University of Zaragoza in 2014 and in 2015, she obtained the Master’s Degree in advance studies in literature and film, after defending with honours her MA thesis “Crossing a Terrible Line: Cross-racial Ventriloquism and the Liberation of White and Black Women in Katheryn Stockett’s The Help”. In February 2024, she completed her PhD dissertation entitled “Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie: Transmodern Narratives and Transcultural Identities in a Globalized World” at the University of Zaragoza. Her main research interests concern postcolonial literature, gender and trauma, with a particular focus on contemporary realistic fiction written by Nigerian female authors. She has presented papers on the aforementioned topics in different graduate and undergraduate seminars, national and international conferences. She was a visiting PhD student at the University of Münster (Germany) where she shared her research work with the Postcolonial, Transnational and Trans-cultural Studies Research Group (PTTS).
